Early Life[]

Aimée Lauren Rose, better known as Aimée, is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and composer. Born and raised in London throughout most of her life; she was born to Lucy White (mother) and Paul Payne(father). Her mother was a single parent, as Aimée's father walked out of both her and her mother's life when she was 8 months old - starting a new family. At the time, her mother was working as a waitress, was only 22 at the time, and therefore struggled to make ends meet for both Aimée and herself. Till this day, Aimée has yet to forgive her father for walking out of her life.

Growing up in the urban area of London, Aimée often listened to a lot of soul and jazz music. She favors music from artists such as Amy Winehouse, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, Yolanda Adams, Mariah Carey, and more. Listening to their music inspired her to write and compose music of her own at a young age. She often took to writing lyrics in her personal notebook to express how she felt.

As Aimée began to mature into her early teen years, music became a big portion of her life, and by the time she started high school she was already able to play several different instruments. Her skills as a young musician has opened many doors for her; one being that she was accepted and attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology. There, she learned and explored more aspects in music.

Whilst in high school, Aimée was overweight and was insecure about it. Occasionally, her classmates in her educational environment would tease her and make jokes on her about her weight. When asked about how she felt about this, she described her feeling of embarrassment and humiliation.

In 2007 at the age of 18, Aimée graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology, and had high hopes of attending Oxford University. She later changed her mind and set her priorities on her music career. She worked as a part-time waitress at a bar in the commercial area of London and was still residing with her mother at the time.

Career[]

2007-11: Career Beginnings []

After graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology and her decision to set her priorities on music, she began working on demos. Working as a part-time waitress, she was able to save up enough money to buy herself a recording set. During her free time, she would write and record songs, and would often post it on various social networking sites, including Myspace. Her self-promotion on social networking sites eventually paid off over an extended period of time, and she was discovered by a talent scout for an indie label. She was later signed to the label in late 2008, but the in the following year, the label had announced that it was closing and that left Aimée back on her own.

While she was signed to the label, she worked on an album, but due to it closing down, she scrapped it and began to work on new material. Whilst doing that, she began writing songs for other artists. She co-wrote Rihanna's 2009 hit-single "Russian Roulette". She also co-wrote for artists such as Taio Cruz, Jay Sean, and Britney Spears; adding more into her artist repertoire.

In 2010, she made her debut performance in the United States and in Canada whilst being one of the support acts on the 16th installment of the summer "Warped Tour" festival. All throughout the summer of that year, she performed at venues in the US and Canada. After the tour ended, she continued writing songs for other artists, and all throughout 2011, she continued working solely  and independently on her debut album. She still continued performing at local pubs throughout the UK.

2012-Present: Debut album[]

It was announced to her 350k followers on her official Twitter account that she would be releasing her debut album entitled 'Visions' during the first quarter of 2013. Since then, Aimée hasn't been writing for other artists anymore. She's described herself as a "perfectionist", and doesn't plan on releasing a rushed album. In December 2012, she signed a deal with Five Pesky Kids/Chaos Records and will release the album under the two labels. In was announced that the lead single will be released sometime in January. Aimee is scheduled to shoot a music video for the single during the last week of December.

Personal Life[]

Aimée currently resides in condominium in her hometown London. She stated that she often decided that she was going to move to either Los Angeles or New York in the United States, but later changed her mind, stating that she'd feel "homesick" due to not having family there. She desired to move there to have higher opportunities for her career in music.
